George Haimari

George is a Co-Founder at Phoenician Funds. He currently supports the team in the investment decision making process and portfolio companies’ capability building in his capacity as a Senior Advisor.
George has over 20 years in advisory and banking experience in MENA and Turkey with bulge bracket institutions (McKinsey, Booz & Co., Citibank, Bank Audi). He currently leads McKinsey’s Financial Institutions Group practice in the Middle East region, and has advised over 30 institutions in the region including banks, central banks, investment companies and conglomerates. He has also setup 5 banks/ financial institutions end-to-end, from strategy to implementation, digitization, as well as launched more than 10 businesses for major financial institutions.
George has worked across the globe with experience in the GCC, Turkey, Levant, North Africa and Central and South East Asia, and exposure across a variety of topics covering strategy, venture capital, private equity, digital banking, organization and governance, implementation & execution, as well as technology setup.
George holds an MBA from the American University of Beirut, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Université Saint Joseph.
